I live and work in Tiohtia:ke, also known as Montreal, in the unceded territory of the Kanien’keha:ka Nation in Quebec.
When I am not teaching, reading, or writing, I like to pluck my banjo, watch 70s horror movies, ride my bicycle, and play Warhammer 40k. I also play bass for a spooky post-punk/shoegaze band called Fever Visions.

Dissertation Research
My doctoral dissertation concerns emerging scholarship in critical phenomenology and social reproduction theory (SRT). I identify two "schools" of SRT thought: one centered on gender as a social technology of time, and the other on the historical development of bodily modes of (re)production.
I attend to the tensions and ambiguities between these two schools with critical phenomenology, and posit a concept I name inter-temporality: the essential structure of social reproduction is best thought of as the totality of ways in which subjects give, make, and take time together.
In doing so, I show how a) the conceptual tensions and ambiguities between these schools may be addressed through engagement with critical phenomenology, and b) critical phenomenology may gain a robust and non-reductive account of class via the Marxist feminist tradition.
Other Research Topics
Topics on which I am currently writing include: phenomenological approaches on the temporality of housework and domestic labour, and its relationship to gendered oppression; historical and intellectual connections between Lukács and Merleau-Ponty; the phenomenological reduction as a method of Marxian critique; Merleau-Ponty’s account of operative intentionality in Phenomenology of Perception and its relation to bodily needs (such as sleep and hunger); de Beauvoir and Arendt’s contrasting accounts of labour and domestic work; and SRT frameworks for revolutionary praxis and freedom.
Critical Phenomenology Reading Group
I co-organize the CPRG with my colleague and comrade at Queen's, Alisha Sharma. You can find present, upcoming, and previous sessions with our wonderful guests here.
